Verbatim from Peikoff's Apr 7, 2026 ICE essay (caps added); the "eliminate voter ID" claim is overstated. 824 impressions, 14 likes, 7 reposts, 3 quotes (Oct 24, about 7:30 PM CT). See the [[Users/@CapitalismMag/Post Analyses/Post Analysis - CapitalismMag on Peikoff's Democrat Party vs America (2026-10-23)|Peikoff analysis]]. ## Assessment for source reliability - **Quotes:** accurate in the case checked. The Sowell lines are verbatim from his 2008 column. But the account elides with "…", and here the cut sentence ("Unlike the Communists, the Fascists did not seek government ownership of the means of production") weakens the "leftist" reading of the quoted post. - **Inferences:** an Objectivist position. Fascism and Nazism are treated as "statism/collectivism" and placed on the left. That is a philosophical classification, not the historians' consensus (see [[Topics/Fascism, Nazism and the Left-Right Spectrum/Fascism, Nazism and the Left-Right Spectrum|Fascism topic]]). - **Quotes (2nd check):** the Peikoff lines are verbatim from his Apr 7, 2026 essay. CapitalismMag added capitals without a note, swapped "they" for "@TheDemocrats", and lifted the paragraph from an essay about ICE. The quote is accurate, but the claims in it are partisan and partly overstated ("eliminate voter ID", "endless cheating"). - **Topics (Peikoff post):** US elections and constitutional structure, and the Objectivist split over the midterms (it answers @PSchwartzIDS). No matching topic exists yet; a candidate new topic. - **Use:** a good pointer to primary texts by Rand, Peikoff, Reisman and Sowell. Check the original for any elided context.
