**Role:** Ice-core geochemist (LSCE, France at the time); lead author of Caillon et al. 2003.
- Lead author of **Caillon et al. 2003, "Timing of atmospheric CO₂ and Antarctic temperature changes across Termination III"**, *Science* 299:1728 ([doi](https://doi.org/10.1126/science.1078758)).
- **Finding:** CO₂ lagged Antarctic temperature by **800 ± 200 years** at Termination III (~240 ka). The authors still described CO₂ as an amplifier of the orbitally initiated warming.
- This is the one citation that does support Clack's "lag" wording, though not his conclusion.
