**Role:** Glaciologist, Institut des Géosciences de l'Environnement (IGE), Grenoble; lead author of Parrenin et al. 2013.
- Lead author of **Parrenin et al. 2013, "Synchronous change of atmospheric CO₂ and Antarctic temperature during the last deglacial warming"**, *Science* 339:1060 ([doi](https://doi.org/10.1126/science.1226368)).
- **Finding:** with an improved gas-age/ice-age offset (using δ¹⁵N), CO₂ and Antarctic temperature rose **in step**, within about ±200 years. There was no lag of several centuries.
- Clack cites this paper as evidence of a "several hundred to a thousand years" lag, which is the opposite of its conclusion.
