# VITURE Pro 2: Cheaper, Lighter, and Missing Three Things
## Detailed outline
### Cold open — lightest / thinnest / sharpest (and a little misleading)
- Host **Casandra Vuong (Cas)** opens on VITURE’s marketing for the **VITURE Pro 2**: “lightest, thinnest, and sharpest.” She calls that framing **a little misleading**.
- First impression in hand: still **birdbath optics**, but a **noticeably smaller** frame than prior VITURE birdbath pairs; even **thinner than recent Prism-lens** models — unexpected.
- Scale reading: about **63 grams** (“close enough”). That is **14 g down** from the pair it replaces, and you feel it immediately.
- Bigger surprise is price: launches at **$299**. Original **Pro** launched at **$459** → Pro 2 is currently the **cheapest pair VITURE sells**.
- Promise of the video: show what actually changed, how to get the **fit** right (matters more than people think), and **what VITURE took out**. Tagline: *Join me beyond reality.*
### Disclosure
- **VITURE sent the Pro 2** as a review unit. **No payment**, they have **not seen** the video, **no review direction**.
- Links below are **affiliate**; buying through them helps the channel at no extra cost.
### Unboxing and design
- Box has a fun **3D effect** she calls pointless and loves.
- Contents: quick-start guide on top; **hard case** with glasses inside; **lens cover**; **cable**; **three sets of nose pads**; documentation; cleaning cloth.
- Build quality feels good — similar to prior VITURE glasses, just **noticeably lighter** when picked up.
- Case: familiar hard shell she trusts in a bag, with a small accessories compartment. Not revolutionary, but the touch points feel considered.
### What changed (Pro → Pro 2)
- Head-to-head called out on screen:
- **Weight**: 77 g → **63 g**
- **FOV**: 46° → **50°**
- **Brightness**: up to 1000 nits → up to **1600 nits**; brightness steps **7 → 9**
- New vs prior Pro: **adjustable temple arms** (already on other VITURE models; new for the Pro line).
- **1600 nits** makes Pro 2 the **brightest pair VITURE makes** — brighter than the **Beast** and the whole **Luma** series, on their cheapest glasses.
- Unchanged: **1920×1080 per eye**; up to **120 Hz**; **birdbath** optics; **3DoF via SpaceWalker**; **myopia adjustment** (still one of her favourite VITURE features; wishes every company copied it).
- On the FOV bump: four degrees sounds small, but the picture still feels like a **large TV a couple of metres** in front of you.
### Three things removed (not on the box)
1. **Magnetic connector** → standard **USB-C** plug in the **right temple**. Torn: magnet was elegant and would **pop off** instead of yanking glasses off your face, but also **unplugged itself** when she shifted. USB-C stays put; no proprietary cable to lose.
2. **Electrochromic dimming** gone. Prior Pro could darken lenses with a **button** — one of its best features; **every other current VITURE pair still has it**. Pro 2 gets a **physical cover** / nice **lens cap** that blocks light fine, but it is still a cap you carry.
3. **Harman audio branding/tuning** removed. Compared against the **Beast** (still Harman): Beast has **fuller bass** and a bit more depth. She is “not an audiophile.” Not night-and-day; at **$300**, Pro 2 sound is **good enough**. Beast is also a much more expensive pair.
- Partial answer to “what did they give up?”: **$160 cheaper** and lighter, but you pay for it somewhere (dimming + Harman name especially).
### Getting the fit right
- VITURE pitches this generation around **comfort**.
- **Three nose-pad sizes** in the box: one **fixed** single-position pad; the other two clip onto a **post with three positions per side** → VITURE’s marketed **“seven positions.”**
- Fit is not just comfort: if the glasses sit slightly off, **birdbath image goes blurry** — you need to look through the optics properly.
- **Temple arms adjust** (new for Pro line); temple **material** also changed for comfort.
- Wear test: several hours — **nose fine**; weight she still notices is on the **ears/temples** after a while. 63 g does not disappear; it **moves somewhere you mind less**.
- Dial-in took her about **two minutes**; most people will skip it and wonder why the glasses feel wrong.
### Edge-to-edge clarity (UltraClarity 3.0)
- VITURE is loud about **edge-to-edge sharpness** — an **improvement claim**, not a brand-new feature (similar language around the original Pro).
- Test she cares about: **small text in the corners** (where birdbath usually fails). She wrote script in-glasses and played a game with **HUD elements in the corners** (**Enshrouded** linked in description).
- Extra stakes: glasses are **0DoF by default** — screen locked to your head, so you **cannot turn to look at a corner**; edges **must** be sharp.
- Result: corners stay clean; no straining/squinting. **Edge-to-edge claim earned.** “Sharpest overall?” deferred; **edge-to-edge = yes**.
### Picture quality & hidden costs
- **Sony Micro-OLED** panels; blacks properly black; colours natural but a bit **deeper/more saturated** than her monitor or phone — great for films and games when you lack a monitor.
- **Double-tap** the button cycles **five picture presets**.
- Brightness: so bright that at **night** she had to turn it down (full brightness in a dark room is uncomfortable); in **daylight / near a window** that headroom is exactly what you want.
- Sent the **XR Adapter Ultra** (not new, but the useful one): handles **Switch 2**, and lets you **charge and play** at once with any of their glasses.
- Upcoming **Mobile Dock Mini**: power bank + detachable adapter in one, smaller than the old dock — she does **not** have it yet.
- Honest cost: depending on what you plug into — **iPhone, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch** — you probably buy an **adapter**. Not uniquely a VITURE problem (whole category); still: glasses are **$300**, your **setup might not be**.
### No chip, no cameras
- Clarifies **0DoF default**: **no processing chip** inside, **no outward cameras**, **no hand tracking**.
- **3DoF** via **SpaceWalker** app (pins the screen when you turn your head) — **not 6DoF**.
- Tried SpaceWalker: **improved a lot**, but still **clunky / drifts**; stabilisation not smooth enough to “leave your monitor at home.”
- Line vs **Beast** / **Luma Ultra**: those have the hardware to make pinning smoother.
- For these optics at this price: enough for **entertainment and casual work** — which is the point. No chip/cameras is part of how these are **$300 instead of ~$550**.
### Pushback on “sharpest ever”
- Likes VITURE (years of reviews) — which is why she is picky.
- Technically their argument is about **optics**, not pixel count, and edge-to-edge retune is real.
- But “our sharpest display ever” reads to most people as **more pixels** — and that is **not** what happened.
- Pro 2 still **1080p per eye**; **Luma** series and **Beast** are **1200p**; Beast is also **wider at 58° FOV**.
- Claim not false; may leave the **wrong impression**. Worth knowing before spending $300 expecting VITURE’s sharpest *picture*.
- Luma/Beast cost more; Beast uses **Prism** lenses with their own trade-offs → linked Beast review.
### Refurb Pro 1 comparison
- At script time, **refurbished Pro 1s** well **under $200**, sometimes closer to **~$130** (prices move — check yourself).
- Question is not only “is Pro 2 better?” but “better by enough vs roughly **double a refurb**?”
- Her answer: **mostly yes**, driven by **edge-to-edge sharpness** — something you notice every time you put them on; a discount on the old pair does not buy that.
### Honest catch, who it’s for & verdict
- **Not a monitor replacement** yet. At home she still uses real monitors until category resolution gets meaningfully better.
- Sweet spot: **travel** — plane, hotel, sofa, anywhere without a screen. That is where a pair like this earns its place.
- What they gave up: **dimming** and the **Harman** name (both real). Losing a dimming button for a plastic cover she has to carry is the cut she actually minds. **SpaceWalker** still not good enough that she would choose to work in it.
- Worth it for what these are trying to be? **Yes. Easily.**
- Scorecard: **Lightest? Yes. Thinnest? Yes. Sharpest? Depends what you mean.**
- At **$300**: really good **entry point for entertainment** — good price, good screen. Just know that is all it is, and that device adapters can make the **full setup expensive fast**.
- Outro: *See you in the next one. Tot snel!*

## Biographies
### Casandra Vuong (Cas)
Co-founder and primary on-camera host of **Cas and Chary XR**. In this episode she unboxes and wears the VITURE Pro 2 for multi-hour sessions, maps Pro→Pro 2 gains and the three removals (magnetic cable, electrochromic dimming, Harman audio), stress-tests UltraClarity edge sharpness with corner HUDs, pushes back on the “sharpest ever” wording, and lands a clear verdict: excellent $299 entertainment/travel glasses if you accept the missing conveniences and possible adapter costs.
### Chary Keijzer
Co-founder of **Cas and Chary XR** (with Cas). Shared channel brand and Dutch outro (*Tot snel!*) apply; this upload is led on-camera by Cas.
### Cas and Chary XR (channel)
Netherlands-based XR media channel covering AR/VR hardware, wearables, and spatial computing (@CasandChary). This upload is an unpaid, independent VITURE Pro 2 review (unit provided; no sponsorship or approval rights), focused on honest trade-offs at the $299 price point.
### VITURE
XR / video-glasses company behind the Pro 2, original Pro, Beast, and Luma lines. Sent Cas the Pro 2 plus XR Adapter Ultra for review without payment or editorial control. Pro 2 is their lightest/thinnest/brightest and currently cheapest model, achieved partly by dropping magnetic USB-C, electrochromic dimming, and Harman-tuned audio while keeping Sony Micro-OLED birdbath panels at 1080p per eye.
### Sony (Micro-OLED)
Panel supplier for the Pro 2’s dual Micro-OLED displays — credited for deep blacks and saturated colour that make the glasses strong for films and games when a monitor is not available.
### Harman
Audio brand whose tuning/branding appeared on the original Pro and still on the Beast. Absent on Pro 2; Cas’s side-by-side vs Beast found fuller bass on the Harman pair, with Pro 2 still “good enough” at $300.
