If the green energy subsidies and credits disappear, then so do the foreign solar developers. That’s what’s happening at Foothills Solar. Commercial solar generates such a pathetic amount of energy in Upstate NY that the industry cannot survive without subsidies and credits. By the way, our tax dollars and delivery charges on our electric bills fund these subsidies that @NYSERDA promises to foreign wind and solar developers. --- ## Comments > **Ed @fasteddie2271** · [2026-05-11](https://x.com/fasteddie2271/status/2053975048264761505) > > Question: > > Where are these "solar companies" getting the money for the apparatus and labor? > > Also, What happens to the leases if these companies go out of business?
