The Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES) was sneakily snuck through in the 2020 budget bill, creating an insulated shadow agency that has the power to: 1) override local laws 2) override local zoning 3) override the entire @NYSDEC 4) override local moratoriums 5) trump our home rule And we don’t get to know who works at ORES! It’s hidden from the public. You can’t call them, either. They don’t pick up or answer calls. They have unchecked power to destroy New York State. @KathyHochul looks the other way.
