# Week 12 — Friday, November 13
## Appointments · Showcase Cut + Networking Check
**Your group hour. Lab open the full block.**
---
## Due today
- **Showcase piece — plan / rough cut**, plus the **shot list PDF**
- Platform cadence check: **four pieces placed publicly**
---
## Your conference
**We watch the cut together, cold, at full length.** Then:
- Is your best material inside the **first eight seconds**? Assume a reviewer stops at fifteen.
- Is it **60–90 seconds**? Almost every cut gets better when it gets shorter.
- Does it work **muted**? Many reviewers watch with sound off.
- Does the shot list attribute every shot honestly — and can you defend each one if asked "what part was yours?"
**Networking Log check.** Where are you against the Week 15 minimum: 10 entries, 3 follow-ups, one fall Guest Speaker session attended? If you have zero entries today, we make a concrete plan in the conference — who you're messaging this week, and which event you're going to.
---
## Bring
- The rough cut, as a working link *and* a local file
- The shot list, printed
- Your Networking Log, open
---
## Due next

| **Presentation script** + timed dry run | Week 13 — Fri Nov 20 |
| Everything else | Week 15 — Fri Dec 4 |

## Next week is the dry run
Week 13 is a **timed rehearsal** of your final presentation, one-on-one. Come with a script.
That's not decoration — it's the week that makes you ready for the December Portfolio Review, whenever the department lands it. From Nov 20 forward you should be able to present your portfolio to a stranger with no warning.
Read the **Final Portfolio Presentation** assignment page this week and write the script from it.
