# Week 10 — Friday, October 30 ## Full Class: **Be found** > *How do people encounter my work and my name without me applying?* **Everyone attends the full block this week.** **⚠ Today is the last day to withdraw from a 16-week course.** --- ## Due today **Website — Concept & Design**, at the start of class. --- ## What happens **Block A — The website (60 min).** Structure that works, the project page template, and the **30-second test** — which we run live. You'll swap URLs with someone who doesn't know your work and answer four questions about each other's sites on paper. Reliably the most useful twenty minutes of the semester. **Block B — The showcase piece (45 min).** Reel, turntables, in-engine capture, or playable build — choosing the right form for your target role, and what each one has to do to work. **Block C — Networking, in depth (90 min).** The longest block in the course after the portfolio itself. The three circles, the local map, the actual mechanics, and what to say when you meet someone. --- ## Bring - Your concept document - Laptop, and your site or platform live on screen - Something to write on for the 30-second test --- ## The reframe from Block C **Networking is not asking people for jobs.** It's making yourself a known quantity before there is an opening. Most junior roles in this region get filled off a shortlist that existed before the posting went up — someone thought of a name, or someone was asked "know anybody?" The entire practical goal is to be the name that gets thought of. That's a slowly built asset. Which is why your **Networking Log** starts today and runs to Week 15. --- ## About withdrawing Today is the deadline. If you're not going to finish, or you're not sure, come talk to me during the block — I'll make time. There's no version of this conversation where I'm annoyed with you.
