# Week 2 — Friday, September 4
## Appointments · Triage Conference
**Your group hour. Lab open the full block.**
---
## Due today
**Portfolio Inventory & Triage** — submitted in Canvas before your hour, and brought to the conference.
---
## Your conference (12–15 min)
We go through the pile together. I will push back on your buckets, and you should expect to lose an argument or two — that's the point of doing it out loud rather than alone.
Specifically, I'm looking for:
- A piece in **FIX** that's really a RETIRE, kept alive by sunk cost. The tell is "but I spent so long on it." Hours you spent are invisible to a viewer.
- A piece in **RETIRE** that's really a FIX, because you're judging the craft when the problem is the presentation. A great deal of FIX work is lighting, camera, turntable, breakdown images, and a written role statement — not remodeling.
- **At least one GAP.** Almost nobody has zero. If you're claiming none, show me the three postings and point at what your existing work covers.
---
## Bring
- The triage sheet
- The three job postings for your primary target title, printed and marked up
- Your platform account, if it's live yet
---
## In the lab
Start the FIX work you can start today, and open the file for whichever piece you're least confident about. The lab has software and hardware most of you don't have at home — students who use the whole block finish this course with better portfolios than students who leave after fifteen minutes. That's not a threat, it's just what happens.
