App-free AR in the browser, at lower quality than native. ## Market note **8th Wall's hosted platform shut down on 28 February 2026.** Alternatives include Zappar's Mattercraft, Blippar, Kivicube and open-source stacks (three.js / WebXR, model-viewer). Check iOS Safari support: WebXR AR is limited on iPhone, so most WebAR platforms use their own tracking. ## Recommendation Prefer **zero-install native formats** (USDZ Quick Look on iPhone, Scene Viewer glTF on Android) from a QR code.
