# iPhone AR — Process
**Role:** street-level "postcards" (60–90 seconds, baked, captioned) that deep-link to the kiosk for live Q&A. See [[Nantucket Island AR and VR]].
## Tiers
| Tier | Tech | Install | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zero-install | **USDZ in AR Quick Look** (Safari/Messages) | None | Single object or short animated figure from a QR code |
| App Clip | Native lightweight app launched from QR/NFC | Instant | Postcard with audio, captions, image anchor |
| Full app | Swift + **ARKit + RealityKit**, or Unity AR Foundation | App Store | Island loops, offline caching, multiple stops |
## Steps
1. Export Optimized character and baked monologue animation from Unreal → USD/USDZ (via Reality Composer Pro or Maya/Blender).
2. Card hair, texture atlases, polygon budget suited to mid-range iPhones.
3. Anchoring: **image targets on plaques** first; ARKit location anchors or ARCore Geospatial (iOS SDK) where coverage exists; GPS as fallback.
4. Audio + captions; high-contrast UI for glare.
5. Test in noon sun, fog and cobblestone crowds; battery/thermal checks.
6. No live AI on the street; deep-link to a kiosk booking.
